Your responsibilities

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior AI/Data Scientist to advance the development of innovative AI and data-driven solutions for healthcare and clinical research. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in machine learning, computer vision, and data engineering to design robust data pipelines, develop predictive models, and generate meaningful insights from complex clinical and medical imaging data. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, you will translate scientific and business challenges into impactful solutions while mentoring colleagues and promoting best practices in research and data science. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with a collaborative mindset and a passion for applying advanced analytics to improve healthcare outcomes.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Build and evaluate machine learning models for clinical datasets, including imaging and longitudinal data
  • Design, build, and maintain robust cloud-based ML/AI pipelines, applying data engineering best practices to ensure data quality, reproducibility, traceability, and reliable analytical workflows for healthcare and research datasets
  • Perform statistical and computational analyses using Python, applying appropriate data science, AI, and image processing methods to generate actionable insights
  • Collaborate with and mentor cross-functional teams by providing technical guidance, resolving analytical challenges, and promoting best practices in data science and research
  • Translate clinical and business needs into data-driven solutions and communicate complex technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Develop and apply data science and AI methods for medical image analysis, disease progression modeling, predictive analytics, and scientific research

Your profile

  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related quantitative field, with either 3+ or 1+ years of relevant experience in data science, statistics, predictive analytics, healthcare analytics, or research
  • Equivalent professional experience demonstrating comparable technical and scientific capabilities, including relevant industry experience (e.g. within a software company, medical device company, or other regulated environment), is also considered
  • Ability to develop, validate, and interpret AI models in a scientific or clinical data context 
  • Strong proficiency in Python for ML/AI, data analysis and statistics, including image segmentation, computer vision, and medical image analysis. Experience with R is considered an advantage.
  • Experience with data engineering concepts, including developing and maintaining cloud-based data pipelines, integrating diverse data sources, and ensuring data quality, reproducibility, and traceability
  • Ability to mentor and guide technical team members and support colleagues in resolving analytical, technical, and data-related challenges
  • Preferred: Experience with longitudinal data analysis in clinical trials or healthcare research, including the ability to design and interpret statistical analyses for retrospective clinical datasets 
  • Ability to translate clinical or business questions into data science solutions
  • Outstanding communication skills in English for presenting complex technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. German language skills are a plus.

You can expect a gross yearly salary starting at EUR 64,554.- (on full-time basis, 38.5 hours/week based on the collective agreement) with the willingness to overpay according to your qualification and experience.
